| | Ethical Practices:
We carefully research the sources of our materials using recycled gold from our own workshop and reputable dealers in New York. Colored gemstones are purchased from the native markets of Brazil, East Africa, India, Madagascar and Sri Lanka. We do not buy Burmese Rubies that are mined in Myanmar. Our pearls come from Hong Kong, the South Seas and Tahiti. All diamonds are conflict-free and brought directly from a fourth generation diamond dealer in New York.
New York Showroom:
Most of the items available online are available for in-person viewing and purchase from our Nolita studio. We are not a store, but would be happy to meet with you by appointment.

For simplicity, fairness, and ease of mind to our customers, the prices listed on our website are always the lowest price available.
Rose Cut Diamonds:
Rose cut diamonds are flat on the bottom with a series of facets over the top surface. The cut was introduced in the 16th century and was popular until the late 1800s, when more modern diamond cuts replaced them. Rose cuts don't have an "ideal cut" like modern brilliant cuts, meaning that each stone has more variation in it's faceting and depth. Because they're usually flatter than brilliant cuts, they tend to look larger for their carat weight.
White Diamond Quality:
Our rose cut white diamonds are typically G-H-I color and VS2-SI1 clarity, meaning they're nearly colorless and may have some very small inclusions, visible under 10x magnification. We're careful to select rose cuts that are extremely well cut.
Colored Stone Quality:
We tend to select unusual colors, cuts and clarity. We're careful to use stones that have attractive and unique inclusions or optical phenomena, but are internally stable.Custom Work:
We offer custom design services and resetting of customer-provided stones. Our studio is in the Noho area of Manhattan and welcome customers to meet us to discuss custom work. Custom settings generally start at $2500.

About The Company:
Conroy & Wilcox is an independently owned New York based company specializing in fine, heirloom-quality jewelry. It began as a creative collaboration between Gillian Conroy and Danica Wilcox, both of whom had backgrounds in art, fashion, and editorial work. After studying goldsmithing in New York, and researching fabrication techniques and gemstones in India, they introduced their line in New York in 2006. Since then, Conroy & Wilcox has repeatedly been recognized in international media for their creative, elegantly minimal designs.
With a superb eye for selecting unusual stones and cuts not often seen in modern jewelry, Conroy & WIlcox pieces have a unique sensibility that is both contemporary and timeless. Their pieces are made in New York by hand, with careful consideration of craftsmanship and ethical practices. |
